Nutritionally Needham is a month-long, community-based initiative designed to raise awareness of the connection between food choices, human health, and the environment. Our program partners with local food establishments and community partners to highlight healthy menu options that meet dietitian-approved nutrition guidelines.

Nutrition Guidelines
Dietitian
Approved
Entrees, meals, or sides must include one or more of the following.
Fruits & Vegetables
Whole grains
At least one serving of fruits or vegetables.
100% whole-grains such as brown rice, whole-grain bread, quinoa, oats, corn tortilla chips, etc.
lean protein
Such as chicken, tofu, beans, or fish.
healthy fats
Small amounts of healthy fats and dressings such as avocado, olive oil, nuts and seeds, or vinaigrette.
low-fat dairy
Dairy must be
un-sweetened or
low-fat.
